Euromedic Romania
Euromedic operates scanning, diagnostic, therapeutic and dialysis centres in 15 countries across Europe-wide.
History
In January 2008, Euromedic entered the dialysis line of service in Romania, by joining forces with “Nefromed Dialysis Centers SRL” (Member of Euromedic Group of Companies) in establishing dialysis centers that would operate under the Euromedic PPP concept.
In 2004, Nefromed won the national tender to privatize two dialysis centers in Cluj Napoca and Alba Iulia. The activity of the centers started in 2005 in the locations provided by the Cluj and Alba County Hospitals. The two centres together treat 357 haemodialysis patients on a regular basis and are equipped with state-of-the-art haemodialysis equipment and water purification systems. Together, the centres have 85 haemodialysis machines and a staff of 81 medical professionals which perform over 55,000 treatments annually. In November 2007 IDC Cluj Napoca moved into a new location, created especially in order to offer the best dialysis conditions for the patients
In November 2008, the third and fourth centres were inaugurated in the cities of Sibiu and Barlad.
IDC Sibiu opened with 31 ESRD patients which receive dialysis treatments on a regular basis. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art haemodialysis equipment and water purification systems and has the capacity to expand its base of operation to 100 patients. The centre has 30 haemodialysis machines and this year with a staff of 12 medical professionals perform nearly 5,000 treatments annually.
IDC Barlad opened with 85 haemodialysis patients that will receive dialysis treatments on a regular basis. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art haemodialysis equipment and water purification systems and has the capacity to expand its base of operation to 130 patients. The centre has 22 haemodialysis machines and with a staff of 27 medical professionals performs over 13,000 treatments annually.
At the end of November 2008, the fifth centre became operational in the city of Timisoara. IDC Timisoara opened with 202 patients (148 haemodialysis patients and 54 peritoneal dialysis patients). The centre is equipped with 38state-of-the-art hemodialysis equipment and water purification systems, and with a staff of 40 medical professionals performs over 26,000 treatments annually.
In January 2009, IDC Botosani opened with 119 patients (90 hemodialysis patients and 29 peritoneal dialysis patients). The centre has 32 hemodialysis machines and with a staff of 23 medical professionals performs over 15,000 treatments annually.
